NALC publishes updated HR policy templates for local councils

This week, we unveiled a newly updated suite of template HR policies. The templates form part of our extensive range of HR guidance and support, including how-to guides, a template contract of employment, and The Good Councillor’s Guide to Employment. Significant updates to these templates include changes to the paternity leave policy and flexible work policy to reflect recent changes to legislation, plus a new compassionate leave policy has been added. Local (parish and town) councils are encouraged to adapt these templates based on their specific needs and should ensure their policies align with their delegation or standing order schemes. These materials are exclusive to NALC members and were produced in collaboration with our employment law, HR, and health and safety services partner, WorkNest.
