Following heavy rain over the past few days, and with an Amber weather warning for rain in place for much of the county, we are advising any affected communities to implement their flood plans and for all road users to drive carefully and to the conditions.

A Met Office Amber warning means heavy rain with likely flooding and travel disruption. The current Amber warning is in place until 9pm, though this may change.

We have deployed all of our Parish Stewards and Area Highways officers on our road network today to monitor any localised flooding and take action as appropriate by clearing debris and resolving any highways flooding. We are posting and sharing regular travel and flooding updates on our social media channels.

We have three high pressure jetting machines deployed reactively to deal with drainage issues and a further three tankers operating to a programme. To report a blocked gully, please use MyWilts.

There are currently no Environment Agency flood warnings in place for river- or groundwater, but people should sign up for flood warnings to be alerted when water levels rise and know what to do in case of flooding.

Anyone driving today and in the coming days should allow extra time, drive to the conditions and they should not drive through floodwater.

While there may be some rain in the coming days, there are currently no further weather warnings in place, though this may change. Our teams will be working throughout the week to respond to any issues as they arise.
