The Wiltshire Branch of SLCC are hosting their annual training day for all Wiltshire Clerks on Friday 8th November at Trowbridge.  This is a free event and open to all Clerks, members and non-members of SLCC.

For those Clerks who are not currently members, this is a brilliant opportunity for you to attend and get some free training.  There is absolutely no pressure to join the SLCC, but for those who might be interested, there will be stand from SLCC available to visit in the lunchbreak where they can give you lots of information about the benefits to you, and your council, of membership, including free advice lines and template documents.  Whilst we are all thinking about budget setting for 2025/26, it might give Clerks at smaller councils some evidence to present to your council for including a membership subscription in next years budget!  It is also a great opportunity to network with other Clerks.

The final timetable is being drawn up and will be circulated soon, but topics are expected to include Community Engagement, Cemetries, HR, Qualifications, Code of Conduct, Council Policies, Finance and Mental Health and Wellbeing.  There will be stands from other organisations, companies and consultants relevant to the sector.

A free lunch and refreshment breaks will be included so there is plenty of time to meet your fellow Clerks in between the training sessions.

To give us an idea of catering numbers, please RSVP by FRIDAY 18th OCTOBER.  Please don’t worry if you miss this date for replies – you will still be very welcome to attend.  If you have already sent an RSVP, no need to send another.
