Clerk Needed
Clarendon Park Parish is located just South of Salisbury and requires a new Clerk to take on a part-time role to bring the Parish in line with current regulations for Local Government. We are a very small Parish consisting of up to 5 Councillors. Meetings are held 4 times a year, with occasional extraordinary meetings. The role would be ongoing for the right candidate – Pay in line with SLCC recommendations.
Would suit someone with CILCA qualifications and experience. A sense of service to both the members of the Council and to the Parishioners is essential. Financial experience and technical knowledge (websites) is desirable. The job requires judgmental or creative skills, where there is some need to interpret information or situations and to solve straightforward problems. Involves exchanging orally or in writing varied information with a range of audiences. Administrative and organisational responsibilities. Involves direct responsibility for financial management and expenditure as a Responsible Financial Officer, processing cheques and financial accountability, transparency, submission for auditing etc. Compliance and understanding of Local Government regulation and law is paramount – it is the responsibility of the Clerk to ensure the Council is within regulations and advise the Councillors accordingly. GDPR Compliance. Some evening work, able to manage on time and be self-motivated. Drafting Agendas and Minutes of Meetings. Applicants in a current Clerking post will be considered.
Hours of work: 3 hours a week/variable Contract: Permanent
