Upper Deverills Parish Council requires a new Clerk. The Parish Council covers three villages to the south of Warminster and consists of 5 Councillors. The Council meets on the second Wednesday of alternate months and there may be some requirement to attend additional extraordinary meetings during the year.
The new clerk will be required to work primarily from home and the Parish Council will provide a laptop, but other equipment will need to be provided by the Clerk (an expenses claim can be made to defray these costs) The combined role is for approximately 20 hours a month and attracts a salary on NJC pay scales 2018/19 for part-time clerks at SCP15, increasing according to relevant qualifications or experience.
The Council is looking for someone with excellent admin and communication skills, an understanding of the responsibilities of a Parish Council, and experience of dealing with financial matters
The range of Parish Clerk duties includes: organising and attending evening council meetings, taking and producing minutes of meetings, implementing and monitoring the decisions of the Council, and dealing with all correspondence, including emails received. Financial responsibilities include keeping accounts, paying invoices and receiving income, advising Councillors on annual budget preparation and preparing accounts for internal and external audit as appropriate in accordance with the Parish Council’s Financial Regulations.
